Now after the war on Lebanon this summer 2006, I received a couple of files from Archbishop George Bacouni, estimating the loss in the Greek Catholic Archbishopric of Tyre. Surprised by this enormous loss for the church and people there, who are already poor, and now some of them lost everything, and yes everything. So I decided to create this blog, in order to come to help of Archbishop George Bacouni there. He’s the youngest Archbishop of the diocese. A man of faith and “for better and worse” he remained in Tyre during this war. Now he wants to help them rebuild once again their lost homes and churches.
What can anyone of us do alone? Nothing. But together we can move mountains. The Archbishopric of Tyre needs an enormous amount of money (as you can see below the summary of damages). He counts on us all to help him. Let us be truly christians and give generously.
